In the June 2024 sales launch, HDB will offer 6,938 BTO flats in 6 towns: Yishun, Woodlands, Jurong East, Tampines, Queenstown and Kallang/ Whampoa. The flats are spread across 8 new BTO projects, and about half of the flats on offer in this launch will have a waiting time of 4 years or less.

With a wide selection of flats, ranging from 2-room to 3Gen flats, all priced with significant market discounts, there is a flat for every need and budget. If you are applying for a flat as a first-timer, you may be eligible for the Enhanced CPF Housing Grant (EHG) of up to $80,000 to help you with your BTO flat purchase. Singles can also receive a housing grant of up to $40,000. Including the EHG, you may pay as little as $132,000 for a 3-room flat in Woodlands or $219,000 for a 4-room flat in Yishun, and use your CPF monthly contributions to make your monthly mortgage payments without needing to top up any cash.

If you and your partner are current or recent full-time students and/or National Serviceman, you can apply for a new flat first and defer your income assessment for the EHG and an HDB housing loan to just before key collection, if you meet eligibility conditions. You may also benefit from the enhanced Staggered Downpayment Scheme from the June 2024 sales launch. Under this enhanced scheme, the downpayment payable when you sign the Agreement for Lease has been reduced to 2.5%. You can pay the remaining downpayment when you collect your keys instead, meaning more time to save up!

Priority Schemes

Young married couples and parents with young children will enjoy priority under the First-Timer (Parents & Married Couples) (FTPMC) category, to secure a flat more quickly. If you do not fall under this category, you can also consider applying for a flat under one of the HDB priority schemes to improve your chances of getting a flat.

To prioritise and allocate flats to those with more pressing housing needs, the rules for non-selection have been tightened. So do consider carefully and book a flat when invited to do so.

Useful Tips for Flat Buyers

Before applying for your flat, you must have a valid HDB Flat Eligibility (HFE) letter.

It takes about a month or more during peak periods to process an HFE letter after HDB receives all the required documents. To participate in the June launch, you should have applied for an HFE letter and submitted all relevant documents by 15 May 2024. Applicants without a valid HFE letter would not be able to apply for a flat in this sales launch.

Do also note that:

  • Information on BTO flats on offer is available on HDB Flat Portal, where you can check out all the details and apply online. You do not have to visit HDB Hub to get the information.
  • You can only submit 1 application for 1 flat type and 1 location during each sales exercise.
  • To boost your chances of success, look out for projects with lower application rates. You can check the application rates on the HDB Flat Portal, which is updated several times a day throughout the application window.
  • Applicants are shortlisted via a computer ballot and not processed on a first-come-first-served basis. Just remember to submit your application before the end of the sales launch.

New Estate Classification from October 2024 Sales Launch

This will be the last sales launch under the mature and non-mature estate classification. From the October 2024 sales launch, HDB will implement the new Standard, Plus, and Prime classification for new BTO flats. Read up on the new estate classification here.

HDB will be launching the first project in Chencharu – a new housing area in Yishun – this sales launch.

This project will comprise about 1,270 units of 2-room Flexi to 5-room flats. With sports facilities and parks located nearby, you will have no lack of amenities to help you stay active.
